The Shade is a post-classical post-rock Americana conglomerate with ten hands, two beards, and four drumsticks. Formed in a big yellow house in an old Northeastern shipping town that never got the railroad, they play original music inside and outside, perform loop generating algorithms and once attempted to impersonate the Police.

Their debut record was recorded in February 2009. It was mixed in San Diego and New York before being released in March 2010.
